We are delighted to announce that Phil Canale has joined the MindForward Alliance team as Head of Workplace Wellbeing.

In this role, Phil will bring his significant commercial and workplace mental health experience to lead the membership programme, working closely with member businesses and providing expert support and consultancy, including the oversight and delivery of the annual Thriving at Work Assessment .

Phil has over 30 years of experience working in financial services, including senior roles at NatWest, Barclays, HBOS, and most recently at BNY, in the International Management Team.

Through his career, Phil has actively championed workplace mental health and inclusion. At BNY, he co-led the HEART employee resource group, the bank’s diverse abilities network, globally, leading it to win multiple awards. He is also the Chair of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal This is Me Programme SteerCo.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Phil as a wellbeing leader at one of our member firms and have seen first-hand his genuine passion for mental health and the positive impact he makes. His advocacy, insight, and commitment will be a real asset to our team and wider community. I’m excited to see how Phil brings his ideas and energy to our work as we support businesses in building healthy, sustainable, and high-performing workplaces,” said Alison Unsted, CEO, MindForward Alliance.

“I am excited to be joining MindForward Alliance as I transition from my career in financial services. Our members prioritise wellbeing and positive mental health and have used their membership to connect at multiple levels with like-minded organisations to share best practice and address challenges together. I hope that my commercial background, and experience in a member firm, will help drive positive outcomes for our members and their employees, and look forward to connecting with our members over the coming weeks.”
