Our history and vision
Founded in 2012 (originally as the City Mental Health Alliance), our story began with a small group of leaders in the City of London who shared a vision: to build workplaces that prioritises the mental wellbeing of their people.
Since then, we have grown to work alongside some of the world’s best-known businesses – based in regions across the world – to protect and promote good mental health at work. And our mission has never been more urgent. Millions across the world are struggling with mental health challenges, and depression and anxiety alone account for a loss of 12 billion working days every year.
Our vision is simple: we want every workplace to be good for people’s mental health. Because when businesses prioritise workplace mental wellbeing, it doesn’t just benefit your business - it creates a ripple effect that supports the wellbeing of families, communities and economies.
Businesses have a unique opportunity to make a difference
Forward-thinking leaders know that fostering mentally healthy workplaces isn’t just the right thing to do - it’s a business essential, driving productivity, retention, recruitment, and even stock market performance.
At MindForward Alliance, we support businesses to take action by providing proven strategies, expert insights, practical tools, and a platform for sharing knowledge across industries and borders. Our membership programme, workplace mental health assessments, bespoke training, consultancy and Leadership Pledgeall provide a route to meaningful change. We also offer free resources to help any organisation get started on their journey.
Everything we do is grounded in collaboration, evidence and impact. Our approach is guided by our Thriving At Work Framework. This is an evidence-based roadmap which focuses on three strategic pillars for workplace mental health – organisational culture, working environment and access to support helps organisations make real, measurable and sustainable progress in supporting their people, and is setting the standard for workplace mental health.
