Research by MindForward Alliance highlights that 51% of employees in the UAE have experienced, or are experiencing, mental health challenges, a figure which is similar to the global average. Stigma remains rife, with 41% of workers reporting that mental health is stigmatised in their workplace. In addition, younger generations appear to be most impacted when it comes to work-related stress - 58% of workers report feeling stressed at work, a figure which rises to 61% amongst Gen Z workers.
The UAE is a global business hub with a diverse, international workforce. While the region has made impressive strides in innovation and economic growth, mental wellbeing in the workplace remains an emerging area. Stigma, lack of awareness, and varying levels of support across sectors can create barriers for employees and employers.
