The Leadership Pledge
The MindForward Alliance Leadership Pledge1 is a public commitment, by businesses globally, to build mentally healthy workplaces. It enables organisations and their leaders to demonstrate that they are prioritising mental health in the workplace.

Over half of all employees globally say they are currently experiencing or have previously experienced mental health challenges.
Nearly three quarters (73%) of employees feel that it’s extremely or very important for employers to prioritise the mental health of their workforce
When leaders speak out on mental health, 85% of people believe their employer cares about their mental health, compared to just 31% when leaders don’t.
By signing the pledge a leader demonstration their organisations commitment to six Leadership Pledge commitments . These are aligned to our view that businesses need to develop holistic workplace mental wellbeing strategies that address organisational culture, the working environment and access to support.
Culture
1. Make employee mental wellbeing a Boardroom agenda with a nominated lead at the senior leadership level
2. Develop, deliver and communicate a workplace mental wellbeing plan to support good mental health in the organisation.
Environment
3. Collect data to inform how the working environment can be improved to protect and support employee mental wellbeing.
4. Support people managers to prioritise their own mental wellbeing, and to support the wellbeing of their team.
