GLE and MindForward Alliance launch a new partnership to advance workplace mental health globally

03 Jul 2025

Global Leadership Exchange (GLE) and MindForward Alliance have developed a partnership to help leaders create thriving, supportive and healthier work environments.

GLE  is a global leadership network supported by governments, organisations and individuals across Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the USA, and other nations. It creates space and opportunities for leaders to exchange ideas, learning and knowledge to improve the lives of people with mental health, addiction or disability needs.

Together, both organisations are committed to improving employee wellbeing and supporting leaders to build healthier workplaces by prioritising employee mental health. Research has shown that around 12 billion working days are lost each year to depression and anxiety alone and globally 73% of employees feel overwhelmed by mental health pressures.

Steve Appleton, President/CEO of GLE says:

“This is a tremendous and exciting alliance for us; together we can strengthen engagement and knowledge about the challenges and solutions for improving mental health.
“Mental health has no boundaries when it comes to inside or outside the workplace, so ensuring businesses and leaders have access to the tools and resources needed to support the workforce will have a tremendous benefit on overall health and wellbeing. A key aim is to help ensure authentic and meaningful resources are developed to influence and inform global work practices.”

Poppy Jaman OBE, Founder of MindForward Alliance says:

“We are proud to formalise our partnership with GLE at a time when workplace mental wellbeing is more critical than ever. With mental ill health now the main cause of work-limiting conditions in under-45s, and only 21% of employees feeling their employer cares about their wellbeing, the case for action is clear.
Forward-thinking leaders have a real opportunity – when employee mental wellbeing is prioritized, it’s good for people and  for business. A growing body of evidence shows higher wellbeing scores correlate with better outcomes – from retention, recruitment and productivity to financial performance and innovation.
Together with GLE, we’re committed to mobilising leadership to create mentally healthy workplaces where both people and business thrive.”

The two organisations will work together on a range of activities and joint initiatives, and will update in due course.
