This new resource supports parents who are concerned about children’s mental health.

A hidden but widespread workplace wellbeing challenge is the significant worry many parents have about their children’s poor mental health.

That’s why we are launching the second edition of our Parent Toolkit, designed to help parents navigate mental health difficulties with their children.

We know there is a children’s mental health crisis, and it’s having a knock-on effect on parents. Our research shows that 68% of working parents are concerned about their child’s mental health. This worry has implications for work: 48% say it has impacted their performance , while 12% have considered reducing hours and 8% have considered leaving work altogether.

Our Parent Toolkit is an essential, practical resource to help parents and carers better understand, navigate, and respond to children’s mental health difficulties. One way that employers can show understanding and support by sharing this toolkit across parent, carer, and mental health networks, and making it available on internal wellbeing or resource intranets.

The toolkit has been developed in collaboration with our expert partners — YoungMinds,  Place2Be,  and the King’s Maudsley Partnership — and supported by Morgan Stanley and PwC.  Together, these organisations bring trusted expertise, deep understanding and a passion for improving children and adolescent mental health.

The toolkit includes:

  • Expert advice and curated resources to give parents clarity and confidence in supporting their child’s wellbeing
  • Guidance on the issues parents are most concerned about , from anxiety and depression to resilience and communication
  • A comprehensive link library with options for further support and professional guidance
  • Practical tools and real-world advice to help parents access the right support at the right time

We encourage employers, wellbeing leads, and HR professionals to share this resource widely
