Watch the recording from our first Inside Stories  event this year "Bridging generations, breaking stigma - mental health in the workplace".

Research by MindForward Alliance highlights that 69% of employees in India have experienced, or are experiencing, mental health challenges, a figure which is significantly above the global average. Despite this high rate, stigma remains rife, with 56% of workers reporting that mental health is stigmatised in their workplace. In addition, younger generations appear to be most impacted when it comes to work-related stress - 58% of workers report feeling stressed at work, a figure which rises to 65% amongst Gen Z workers.

Inside Stories are open events in support of the MindForward Alliance Leadership Pledge programme .  The purpose of these events is to share stories from leaders on either their lived experience of mental ill health or their experience as leaders in sponsoring this agenda within their workplace, with the aim of raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and challenging stigma .

This year's first event , Inside Stories India - Bridging generations, breaking stigma - mental health in the workplace , was held in June 2025.

Led by Poppy Jaman (Founder, Vice Chair MindForward Alliance) , our panel was made up of:

  • Dr Rajiv Aggarwal - Senior Vice President, Key Account Management & Digital Health Strategy, Employee Health & Benefits ( Marsh )

T he session explored the urgent need to address mental health stigma in multi-generational workplaces in India.

The conversation was insightful, with each leader providing a unique and valuable perspective on mental health in the workplace for our global audience. The speakers shared profound personal stories, highlighting their own experiences with mental health challenges. This not only demonstrated leadership engagement but also helped to challenge stigma and encourage help-seeking behaviour among those in need.

This event was free and open to all signatories, members, and the public. Registrations and attendees represented 15 countries: India, the UK, Lithuania, Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, South Africa, Poland, Greece, Australia, the Philippines, Germany, Kenya, Portugal, and Nepal.
